The roof is made of graduated greenslate and is shared with the adjoining property, The Beeches, to the left. There is a cement rendered chimney stack. The building has two storeys and two bays. The entrance has a 20th-century door, and the windows are sash style with glazing bars, all set in painted stone surrounds. Rowena Cottage has group value with The Beeches and Sun House.
