Description
Kings Arms House and Kings Arms Cottage are a public house and adjoining cottage, now functioning as two separate houses. They date from the early 19th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. The exterior features painted incised stucco with raised painted quoins on the right side. The building has a graduated greenslate roof and cement rendered chimney stacks. It stands two storeys high and consists of two bays, with the adjoining cottage being a single bay under a common roof.
Kings Arms House has a four-panel door set in a pilastered surround beneath a cornice. The windows are sash style, framed in painted stone surrounds. The adjoining cottage features a 20th-century door and sash windows, all also within painted stone surrounds. The side wall includes a four-panel door in a painted architrave and additional sash windows in painted stone surrounds. A decorative bargeboard adorns the gable. The building encloses the village green at the west end and is noted for its contribution to the townscape.
