Description

Wood View is a farmhouse that has been converted into a private house. It is dated and inscribed above the entrance with "R.W. 1714" and features 19th-century alterations. The building has pink sandstone rubble walls with flush quoins and is topped with a graduated greenslate roof that includes sandstone chimney stacks. It is two storeys high and has three bays. The entrance is off-centre and features a 20th-century door set within an 18th-century stone surround that has a dated lintel, all covered by a 20th-century wooden gabled porch. On the left side, there are flat mullioned two-light windows and smaller fire windows, which are blocked on the ground floor. The right side has sash windows in 19th-century painted stone surrounds. The left side, which was formerly a barn, has been altered to house but is not of interest.
