Description

Rose Farmhouse, now a private house, dates to 1769, as indicated by the inscription above the entrance, "J & F.B. 1769." The house has roughcast walls with raised painted stone quoins, topped by a graduated greenslate roof with banded red sandstone chimney stacks. It is originally two bays wide, with a two-storey, two-bay rear extension forming an L-shape. The front features a double-sash window with glazing bars in a painted stone surround, and a C19 top-glazed door within a chamfered painted stone surround. The extension has sash windows, some with glazing bars, also in painted stone surrounds.
