Description
Midtown is a farmhouse that has been converted into a private dwelling. It is dated and inscribed over the entrance with "P.W. 1678" and has undergone alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of mixed slate rubble and features a graduated greenslate roof with original roughcast chimney stacks. It has two storeys, four bays, and a contemporary extension at the rear.
The entrance includes a top-glazed recessed door set in a stone architrave beneath the inscribed lintel. To the left of the door is a flat stone-mullioned three-light window, while to the right is a sash window with glazing bars. The window to the right of the doorway is round-headed and has a surround dated 1844, although it retains elements of the original 17th-century surround. All openings are topped with a continuous hoodmould.
On the upper floor, there are two- and three-light windows. The left return wall features a projecting gable chimney stack and a small oval window on the upper floor. The rear extension has side two-light windows under hoodmoulds and projecting drip slates, with additional windows from the 19th and 20th centuries.
