Description

This is a milepost located approximately 330 meters northeast of Forest Hall, dated 1825. It is made of cast iron and has a half hexagonal shape with concave faces and a domed cap. The milepost features lettering on the side panels, with "SHAP/9/MILES" on the left and "KENDAL/7/MILES" on the right, while the date is displayed in the center. This milepost is part of a series along the Heron Syke to Eamont Bridge turnpike road, which was established in 1753.
