Description

Bannisdale Low Bridge is a bridge over Bannisdale Beck, built in the 1820s. It is constructed of stone rubble with dressed coping. The bridge features a round arch with flanking piers, a band above, and a coped parapet. The abutments on the west side curve forwards. The roadway is approximately 9 meters wide. This bridge is part of the route from Heron Syke to Eamont Bridge, which was established in the 1820s to replace the older route over Bannisdale High Bridge.
