Description

Knotts Farmhouse Cottage with Attached Buildings is an early 18th-century farmhouse located on Patteredale Road. The cottage is constructed of lime-washed stone rubble, with a graded slate roof and sits upon large boulders. A slate dripstone protects the ground-floor windows. The south side features two 3-light wood mullioned windows on each floor, which are relatively modern. Attached to the west end is a barn building in an L-shaped plan. The barn includes an older 25-paned window, a ramped entrance, and arrow slits. The rear elevation has small square windows. Inside, a cupboard is marked with the date 1688.
