Description
Pond Farmhouse and the attached barn are likely from the early to mid-18th century, with some later alterations and remodelling. The building is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and features a pantile roof with brick stacks. The farmhouse is two stories high and has a three-window front, while the barn to the left is also two stories and has two bays. The gable end faces the street and is accented by irregular quoins.
The house has a 20th-century half-glazed door in the center, with a pivoting window to the left and a French window to the right, both of which have glazing bars. The right end of the house features a two-light, large-pane horizontal sliding sash window. On the first floor, there are two-light large-pane casement windows. All ground floor openings, except for the French window, have timber lintels.
The barn includes a 20th-century sliding garage door to the right and double plank doors to the left, both with renewed lintels. There is a fixed-light window with glazing bars and a timber lintel between the doors, along with a pitching window on the first floor above the garage door. The house has coped gables and stacks at the end and left of center. The property is included for its group value.
