Description
Keld Farmhouse and its attached outbuildings are a farmhouse with a cart shed and byre, dating from the late 18th century, with later alterations. The building is constructed of dressed limestone, with some red brick rebuilding in garden wall bond on the front of the cart shed, and features diagonally-tooled quoins and a pantile roof with brick stacks.
The farmhouse is two stories high with a four-window front, while the cart shed to the right has a two-bay front and the byre at the far right is one and a half stories. The house has 20th-century half-glazed doors at the end right and centre left, with two-light, small-pane horizontal sliding sash windows at the end left and paired between the doors. The first floor has similar windows, with the opening above the centre left door blocked. All openings have painted lintels and the windows have painted sills.
The cart shed features brick piers with painted lintels over the openings and two first-floor two-light small-pane horizontal sliding sash windows. The byre has a stable door to the left of a window opening and a shuttered pitching window on the gable end facing the street. The building has coped gables and shaped kneelers, with stacks at the end left and centre of the house.
