Description

Pendlebury Farmhouse, Pendlebury Farm Cottage, and the attached farm buildings are a combined structure dating from 1712, although they were likely remodeled in the late 18th century. The buildings are constructed from roughly coursed and squared stone, featuring a Welsh slate roof on the house and main barn, while the older barn has a green Westmorland slate roof.

The farmhouse and cottage are two stories high and consist of a three-window range, which includes two dwellings with single and two-unit double pile plans. The ground floor has two doorways flanked by three-light casement windows, and the upper floor features three 2-light casement windows. All windows have been renewed in earlier openings and are topped with painted stone lintels. A datestone is positioned above the right-hand doorway, and there are end wall and axial stacks.

To the right, a barn forms a continuous building line and may have been added to the original domestic range or built in conjunction with its remodeling. This barn has a segmental relieving arch over wide double doors, followed by four windows at a lower level, a pitching eye to the upper right, and a row of small square vents in the upper level. An older barn, which possibly predates the current farmhouse, is attached to the left side of the domestic range. This barn features an advanced gable with a central doorway, likely leading to a stable, and a small window alongside. There is also a segmental relieving arch over a wide left-hand cart entry, and a hay-loft entry is located in the gable apex above the doorway. The interior has not been inspected.
