Description

The Post Office at Troutbeck Bridge, dating from 1834, is a two-storey building that has been altered since its original construction in the 18th century. It features thick stone rubble walls that are covered with roughcast and has an old slate roof topped with an oval chimney. The front includes a glazed door with a modern timber porch, a slate dripstone over the ground floor, and five modern windows. At the rear, there are two round chimneys, one of which is set on a timber base. The Post Office, along with Nos 1 and 2 and Nos 13 to 17 (odd), forms a group along the main Windermere-Ambleside Road.
