Description

Holehird is a large and dignified Gothic mansion built in 1869, situated on a hill with fine grounds overlooking the lake. The building features gables and octagonal chimneys, and it is constructed of local slate. It has two storeys and includes stone-mullioned windows with pointed or Tudor-arched lights, some of which are cusped, as well as bay windows. The entrance is Tudor-arched and located in a gabled porch, which has an ogee niche displaying the date of construction. The mansion is characterized by its long, low proportions.
