Description

No. 36 Bossell Road is a house dating from the mid-19th century. It features a stuccoed and blocked exterior with a slate roof that has a gabled left end and a canted right end with a rounded corner. The house is positioned prominently at the corner of Plymouth Road and Bossell Road.

The building is two storeys high with deep eaves that project over the rounded corner. The elevation facing Bossell Street has two windows and a front doorway on the right, which has a replaced recessed door. The doorcase is adorned with plain pilasters and a shallow pentice above a frieze of moulded brackets, along with large moulded consoles and panelled reveals. There is one ground-floor and one first-floor window, both likely original, featuring 4-pane horned sash designs. The elevation facing Plymouth Road includes two similar ground-floor windows and three first-floor windows.

The interior has not been inspected. This house is included for its group value with other listed buildings along Plymouth Road.
