Description

No. 18 Wyndham Square is a house located at the end of a terrace in a planned square in Plymouth. It was built in the mid-19th century and added to a terrace that dates back to around 1815, designed by John Foulston. The exterior is finished in stucco with mid-floor bands and features a dry slate roof that is hipped on the left side, along with a rendered stack on the right. The house has a double-depth plan, with a front room on the right and an entrance hall on the left. It stands three storeys high over a basement and has a two-window range. The original 12-pane hornless sash windows are topped with segmental arches. There is a tall narrow doorway on the left, which includes a tall overlight and a panelled door. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest. Although it was built later than the planned square, it is in harmony with the original design. This house is included for its group value with Nos 19-28 (consecutive).
