Description
The wall and main entrance gates at Hasfield Court date from the mid to late 19th century. They are constructed from blue lias stone with sandstone capping and piers. The wall is approximately 30 meters long and reaches a height of about 2.5 meters. The double cast iron gates curve upwards at the center and feature foliate finials. On either side of the gates are square gate piers with inset corners and eroded moulded cappings that once had pointed finials. There are also similar subsidiary piers to the right and left, with one retaining its pointed finial, connected to the main piers by quadrant walls. The capping between the piers has a single exaggerated segmental curve. The entrance includes a single-width cast iron gate flanked by matching piers on the far right, and the wall between the main and subsidiary entrances is stepped in V-shapes.
