Yew Tree Farmhouse

Yew Tree Farmhouse is a former farmhouse, now a house, dating from the 17th century with minor alterations in the 19th century and further changes in the mid-20th century. The building features a stone plinth and is timber-framed with rendered or painted brick-nogged infill, topped with a tiled roof. It has an 'L'-shaped plan, consisting of a two-bay wing on the left and a single bay at right angles, rising to two and a half storeys.

The left gable facing the road has framing that consists of two panels high per floor. In the centre, there are a pair of French doors, with a two-light window to the right and another two-light window on the first floor. The main posts are supported by angle braces to the tie-beam, with two collars and studs below, and 'V' struts above, along with a two-light window positioned between the collars.

Set back on the right, the wall is the same height but features framing that is three panels high to the eaves. This section includes a two-light casement window and a door beneath a cantilevered, open timber porch, with an angle brace from the main post to the wallplate on the right. A chimney is located on the ridge of the right wing at the junction with the main block. The farmhouse forms a group with the nearby barn and Apperley House.
