Description
DEERHURST APPERLEY VILLAGE SO 8628-8728 11/33 Yew Tree Farmhouse GV II Former farmhouse, now house. C17, minor alterations C19, altered mid C20. Stone plinth, timber-framed with rendered or painted, brick-nogged infill, tiled roof. 'L'- plan, 2-bay wing on left, single bay at right-angles, 2½ storeys. Windows all late C20 casement. Left gable facing road: framing 2 panels high per floor. In centre pair French doors, 2-light window to right: 2- light window first floor, angle braces main posts to tie-beam, 2 collars with studs below, 'V' struts above, 2-light window between collars. Set back on right, wall same height but framing 3 panels high to eaves: 2-light casement, door under cantilevered, open timber porch: angle brace main post to wallplate on right. Chimney on ridge of right wing at junction to main block. Forms group with barn and Apperley House (q.v.). (Old photographs in N.M.R.)
