Description
Numbers 1, 2, and 3, The Gables, including two ranges of outhouses at the rear, are estate cottages built around 1905. They are constructed from coursed limestone with freestone dressings and feature a stone tile roof with stone coped gables and stone axial stacks that have moulded cornices.
The cottages are designed in a Tudor style and are arranged in a range of three. The exterior is two storeys high with a symmetrical four-bay north front, where the first-floor windows are set in small gables. The windows are ovolo-moulded stone mullion types with leaded pane casements. On the ground floor, there are four-light windows with hoodmoulds that extend over moulded Tudor arch doorways, which have plank doors. At the rear, there are two and three-light stone mullion windows, with the first-floor windows breaking the eaves.
The property also includes two ranges of single-storey stone outhouses at the rear, which have stone tile roofs. The interior of No. 3 retains its original joinery.
