Description
Yew Tree Cottage is a semi-detached cottage, likely originally two separate cottages, located next to Sycamore Cottage. It dates from the mid 17th century to the early 18th century. The building features square-panelled timber framing with rendered infill and a thatched roof, along with brick stacks. It has a long rectangular plan and includes a later lean-to at the rear. There is also a pebble-dashed extension at the back, which is not of special interest. The cottage is 1½ storeys high and has a four-windowed front facing the road. This includes one 20th-century two-light wooden casement with glazing bars, two 20th-century top-opening casements with glazing bars on the far right, and a 19th-century two-light casement with horizontal glazing bars on the far left. There is a buttress immediately to the right and a 20th-century single-light casement with horizontal glazing bars to the right of the buttress. The front also features four eyebrow dormers, three of which have 2 or 3-light 20th-century casements with glazing bars, while one has a 19th-century two-light casement. A part-glazed 20th-century door is located off-centre to the right. The cottage has a projecting gable-end and two axial stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
