Little Sheppey House, No 3 and Pixie Cottage

Little Sheppey House, No 3 and Pixie Cottage are three attached cottages located at Stanton Sheppey. They date from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries and were enlarged and altered in 1922, as indicated by a datestone, by and for Sir P. Stott. The cottages are constructed from coursed, squared stone and feature timber framing with rendered infill. The front has a thatched roof, while the rear wing is tiled.

The building has a 'T' plan with a front that has three or four bays and is one and a half storeys high. The front faces the road and includes leaded lights in the windows. There is a possible vertical joint on the right side of the upper wall, which features a three-light mullioned window with a hoodmould. To the left, the stone changes to yellow, and there is a two-light similar window. A 20th-century boarded door is accessed by five concrete steps and has a timber rail, with a stone lintel above.

To the left, there is a two-light casement window with a stone lintel, and a similar window is slightly to the right and above. The wall angles, leading to a half-glazed late 20th-century door up three concrete steps, and a three-light mullioned window. Above the angle, there is a shallow band of timber framing, one panel high, below the eaves, with a two-light casement window at each end.

There is a swept dormer at eaves level on the right with a two-light casement, and higher up the slope, there is a long swept dormer with two three-light casements. The building has ashlar chimneys on the ridge at each end, with moulded caps, and a similar chimney on the ridge by the angle. Originally formed as four cottages, the existing chimneys and the rear wing were likely added in 1922.
