Description

No 72 on Gloucester Street is a house that dates back to the 16th or 17th century. It features a rubble plinth and a braced boxed timber frame with plaster panels. The roof is made of stone slate and has an ashlar stack on the left side. The building has one storey and an attic, with two gabled dormers that contain leaded two-light casements above 20th-century two-light casements with transoms. The entrance is a plank door with strap hinges, located on the far right. Although the interior has been significantly modified, some original beams and joists remain on the ground floor. This house appears to have been constructed around the same time as the adjoining No 68. Currently, there is no No 70.
