Description

Daniel's Orchard is a house that likely dates back to the 16th century, with minor alterations made in the 19th century and late 20th century. The building features timber framing with brick-nogged and rendered infill, topped with double-Roman tiles. It has 2½ bays and includes a single-bay addition from the 20th century, standing at 1½ storeys and one room deep. The gable faces the road, showcasing framing that is three panels high. There is a blocked doorway on the left and a two-light casement window, with angle struts supporting the tie beam and angled queen-struts leading to the collar. Both windows have small panes and are topped with weatherboarding. The bargeboards are plain.

On the right side, angle struts connect to the wall plate from the main posts in the older part of the house, except in the center bay. There is a half-bay on the right, which is curtailed by the 20th-century addition. A single-storey gabled porch is located on the left, featuring a fully-glazed door from the 20th century. To the right, the framing for three panels has been replaced with brickwork at ground level. There are two two-light casements and a blocked doorway with a cambered timber head, along with a two-light casement above. The right section from the 20th century has slightly higher eaves, with paired two-light casements and a single-light casement. Above, there are three raking dormers, each with a two-light casement. A chimney is positioned below the ridge, one bay from the left. The house forms a group with Cyder Press Farmhouse.
