Description

Manor Farmhouse is a house dating from the 16th century, with alterations in the 18th and 19th centuries. The original timber-frame structure is now encased in brick, with brick additions, and has a plain tile roof. The core of the house is a three-bay 16th-century building, to which an outshot and a wing were added in the 18th century, along with a two-bay, single-storey service range at the left end. A three-gable, one-bay-deep block was added in the 19th century to the right-hand side. The front of the house is two storeys high, with the central bay of the 19th-century addition containing a front door and a gabled brick porch, above which is a four-pane sash window. Each side of the central bay has a four-pane sash window with a rendered arch. There is a small gable above the door, and a continuous bargeboard to all gables. The left-hand bay of the house has 20th-century casement windows, with a 19th-century two-light casement above, and blue header brickwork. The roof of the original 16th-century section is half-hipped, with a higher ridge and a large stack located between the right and centre bays, above a small gable to the 19th-century door.
