Description

This 18th and 19th century courtyard wall sits in front of Kilmeston Manor. It is constructed of brick with stone copings, and incorporates wrought iron railings and a gate. The wall runs along the front of the manor’s 18th-century facade. At each corner, 19th-century timber gates are set within brick piers. The left-hand wall is of brick with corner brick piers also featuring stone copings, forming a low wall with short spear railings. Tall, central stone piers are capped with urns. The gate is of 18th-century design, bearing a crest in its overthrow.
