Description
The garden walls and gates, along with attached sheds located west of Kilmeston Manor, date from the 18th and 19th centuries. These structures consist of brick walls featuring wrought iron gates, as well as flint and brick sheds with thatched and tiled roofs. The walls extend from the end of the house outward and then diverge on either side of the garden, with a cross wall dividing the space. There is a single gate on the cross wall, which is an early 18th-century feature, positioned directly opposite a late 17th-century porch. Similar gates can be found in other locations around the property. Part of the wall extending from the late 18th-century wing of the house includes a small early 19th-century shed made of flint with brick dressings, topped with a thatched roof and featuring Gothick windows and a door. At the opposite end of the house, a hipped tiled brick gazebo built around 1906 marks the corner of the wall.
