Description

Nutleas is a house dating from the 16th century, with alterations in the 18th century and remodelling in the 20th. It is timber-framed with brick infill, with some sections rebuilt in brick during the 18th century and a thatched roof. The house is three bays wide and has a one-and-a-half-storey layout, with a projecting wing to the right. The exposed timber frame has been heightened in the right bay and the projecting wing. A 20th-century planked door is set beneath a thatched timber porch in the centre bay, flanked by 2-light and 3-light 20th-century windows. Eyebrow dormers are positioned either side of the porch, above first-floor windows. A single-storey brick shed is attached to the front on the left end. The projecting wing has a hipped roof with a decorative ridge piece. A large ridge stack is stepped above the ridge, with an offset head to the right of the centre. Inside, much of the timber frame remains exposed.
