Description
Hoefield House is a former vicarage, now a house, dating to the early 1840s. It is characterised by plain render, imitating the appearance of ashlar, and a slate roof. The front elevation features four windows and is two storeys high, with a slightly irregular plan. The main three-window section has corner pilasters rising from the plinth, incorporating Tuscan capitals. A plain string course runs between the pilasters at the first-floor level and a plain frieze sits above. Each floor has three sash windows. To the left, a single bay is set slightly back; on the ground floor, a plain rectangular opening leads up two stone steps to a three-panel door, which is accompanied by side panels and a rectangular light above with marginal glazing. A sash window is positioned above, flanked by pilasters. Wide plastered eaves complete the exterior, alongside a hipped roof and chimneys at each end.
