Description

This alcove seat, dating from the mid-18th century, is located approximately 18 meters to the west of The Corderries in Chalford Hill. It is made of limestone and features a half-circular stone seat set within a niche. The alcove is supported by Tuscan columns mounted on pedestals, which hold up an arched architrave that includes a keystone. A block of stone is missing from the back of the niche, allowing a view over the sloping ground and into the nearby woods.
