Description
Upland House is a detached house dating from the mid-18th century, with a remodel around 1850. It features coursed and random rubble limestone, with stucco facing on the south-west and south-east elevations, and has ashlar and artificial stone chimneys. The roof is covered with concrete tiles. The house is two stories high and has a double-pile plan.
The south-west front has a four-window arrangement, with all windows being four-pane sashes set in plain keyed surrounds. There is an off-centre flat-roofed single-storey porch that has a glazed side door, moulded architraves, and a plain parapet. A moulded cornice and plain parapet continue around to the south-east side, which also has three windows, all four-pane sashes with moulded architraves. A small timber conservatory with a modillion eaves cornice is present on the ground floor. The rear of the house displays mixed sash fenestration from various periods and features an eaves-mounted ashlar chimney.
The boundary wall to the east includes a round arched tufa doorway and a large niche with spring outlets. The interior has not been inspected.
