Description
Horsepool Villa is a small detached house dated 1861. It is constructed from coursed and squared limestone with ashlar dressings, an ashlar chimney, and a clay plain tile roof. The building is single-storey with an attic and cellar, featuring a two-room layout and a single-storey pitched-roofed wing to the north.
The front of the house has a parapet gable with a gabled porch that includes a Tudor arched opening and decorated barge boards. There is a four-panel door and an iron gate leading to the porch, with narrow windows on either side. Above the porch, there is a two-light chamfered mullioned attic window with lozenge-paned casements and a date shield that reads 'S B/1861'.
On the south side, there are two two-light chamfered mullioned casements and a plain cellar casement, along with a central ridge-mounted chimney that has a chamfered cap. The north side features a single-light casement on both the ground floor and in the attic. At the back, there is a two-light chamfered mullioned attic casement. A 20th-century garage at cellar level is not considered of special interest.
