Description

Clare Cottage is a small detached house dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of random rubble limestone, with ashlar and rebuilt chimneys, and features a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high with an attic. The front has a two-window arrangement, with all windows being 2-light chamfered mullioned casements, one of which is leaded. There is a central gabled porch addition that includes a plank door. The south gable end has an off-centre attic single-light leaded casement and a chimney with a chamfered cap. A lean-to is present at the north end, while a glazed conservatory addition at the rear is not considered of special interest.
