Description
Pear Tree Cottage is a small detached house dating from the early to mid-18th century. It is constructed of random rubble limestone with a brick rebuilt chimney and a stone slate roof. The building is two stories high and features a rear outshut and a front wing. The front gabled wing projects forward and has a single-window layout, with both windows being 2-light chamfered mullioned casements. There is a ball finial on the gable of the wing and on the eaves dormer, which contains a 2-light casement, while a 3-light casement is located below. The east wall of the wing appears curved. On the west end, there is a central projecting chimney, with a doorway that has a lean-to porch positioned to the right. To the left of the chimney are additional casements and the doorway, all featuring timber lintels. The rear outshut has a catslide roof. The interior has not been inspected.
