Description
There are two raised pavements on both sides of the street that runs between Laurel Cottage and the entrance to the Church of St Peter. These pavements date from the late 18th century and feature a random rubble limestone retaining wall at the front, topped with asphalt. The front is edged with rough flags. The higher pavement on the south side is about 70 meters long and ends at the west with stone steps. The pavement on the north side is divided into two sections, approximately 30 meters and 110 meters long, with a gap for vehicle access just west of Wadham Cottage. These pavements create an important visual effect on the main village street.
