Description

This description refers to a pair of identical chest tombs, likely belonging to the Crewe family, located immediately north of a group of four Crewe monuments in the churchyard of the Church of St. Kenelm in Alderley. These tombs date from the early 18th century and are made of limestone. They feature flat tops and are set on a single base without an additional plinth, topped with moulded capping. The ends of the tombs are adorned with swags, while the sides display rectangular panels flanked by scroll decorations.
