Description

This is a group of four identical chest tombs, likely belonging to the Crewe family, located immediately north of the Edward Crewe monument in the churchyard of the Church of St. Kenelm. These tombs date from the late 17th century to the early 18th century and are made of limestone. Each tomb features a flat top, a moulded plinth, and a moulded capping with dentils. The ends are plain, displaying inscriptions, while the long sides have a profile shaped like lyre ends that flank oval inscription panels within a rectangular frame.
