Description
Nutshell Cottage is a Grade II listed building constructed from a mix of red brick and coursed limestone rubble, with some areas featuring roughcast render, all under a slate roof. Originally, the cottage had a north-south range on the east side of the plot, but it was extended in the early 21st century to connect this range with an existing outbuilding to the west, resulting in an L-shaped footprint.
The exterior of the cottage consists of two parts: a two-storey range with three bays, featuring a hipped roof, brick stacks, and timber casement windows, and a former outbuilding that is a single-storey range. This outbuilding is linked to the original cottage by an early 21st-century, partly-glazed extension.
Inside, the layout has been largely reconfigured in the 21st century.
