Description
Berryfields House and North Berryfields are a pair of former detached houses, dating from around 1830. The main house is constructed of painted ashlar and brick, with brick chimneys and a Welsh slate roof. North Berryfields is a two-story service wing.
The south front has a two-window arrangement. The ground floor features glazed doors sheltered by a Regency ironwork canopy. Upper-floor windows are 12-pane sashes with louvred external shutters. A plain upper-floor band runs along the facade, and the roof is hipped with projecting bracketed eaves.
The east side has unbanded brickwork, with scattered window openings. A large oval stair light is positioned above a central projecting porch, which features fluted Greek Doric columns. The doorway has a moulded architrave and a moulded panelled door. C20 sash windows are located to the right, on both floors. The service wing to the right offers a three-window arrangement with a 9-pane upper-floor sash window. Outbuildings are situated behind a screen wall.
The west side displays a three-window sash fenestration with 12-pane windows on the ground floor and 9-pane windows above, all with keyed flat arches. The appearance of the service wing is characterized by a three-window arrangement with 12-pane sash windows and a doorway with a 19th-century open gabled timber porch.
