Description

Nutshell Bridge is a Grade II listed structure made of red brick, featuring ashlar keystones and springers. The bridge has a roughly rectangular shape, with wing walls that curve gently outward and are battered. The southern wing wall ends in pilasters and the bridge is truncated at this end, where it meets Nutshell House and Nutshell Cottage. The arched opening is segmental, with ashlar springers, and there is a plain curved string along the top of the arch. The parapet is also plain and is topped with mortar capping.
