Description
Little Court and the Coach House are a pair of former stables and a coach house, dating from circa 1870 and built for Lucina Marling. The building has been converted into two houses. Constructed of coursed and dressed limestone, with ashlar detailing and rebuilt chimneys made of artificial stone, it features a stone slate roof.
The building is largely single-storey, with a two-storey central cross wing incorporating a former coachway. The eastern side has a parapet gable to the cross wing, featuring a moulded pointed archway and a two-light chamfered mullioned casement window with a hoodmould above. A clock is set within a moulded recess, and there's a ball finial to the gable, with a shield at its base and an iron weathervane positioned above. A Tudor arched doorway is centrally positioned in the range to the right, with a four-window arrangement of single-light casement windows, all featuring hoodmoulds. The left range has been altered in the 20th century, replacing original coach doors.
The western side has undergone more alterations in the 20th century, including replacements to the mullioned casement windows. A 20th-century opening is visible in the central wing, with a concrete lintel, a loft door above, and a carved panel to the gable with a cross slit above. The north end has a parapet gable with an oval attic window.
