Description
Cobbler Cottage is a Grade II listed building that was formerly two cottages and is now a single house. It dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century. The structure is made of rubble stone with alternating flush quoins and features a stone slate roof with brick end stacks. It is a single range with a rear outshut, standing two storeys tall with an attic in the gable ends.
To the right, there is a small hipped single-storey extension with a tile roof, along with a later 20th-century extension at the back that is not of special interest. The cottage has three windows, which are 2-light stone mullion and transom windows with leaded casements, although the centre window is blind. The ground floor originally had a 2-light window similar to the left and a 3-light window to the right, but the mullions and transoms have been removed and replaced with wooden casements.
There were originally two doors in the centre, which were adjoining and had chamfered stone surrounds with a relieving arch above. The left-hand door is now blocked, while there are three steps leading up to a plank door on the right, which has a concrete lintel above it.
