Description
14 and 15 Ampney Crucis are semi-detached houses that were originally three cottages, built in the early 19th century. They are constructed from coursed rubble with flush quoins and feature a stone slate roof. The houses have a large brick ridge stack with a stepped cap and a brick end stack on the right side.
The building is a single range with a rear range to the left, which is No 15, and stands two stories tall. The first floor has five 12-pane sash windows set in flush quoin surrounds, spaced unevenly. On the ground floor, there is a 3-light stone mullion window with a wood casement on the far right and another to the left of center, along with a larger 2-light window on the far left and to the right of center. The entrance to No 14 is a plank door in a flush stone surround, located between the last two windows on the right. The door to No 15 is situated on the left-hand return in the rear wing. There is also a blocked doorway in the center that leads to the original third cottage.
