Description

This is a detached cottage, originally used as village stores and a post office, dating from the late 17th or early 18th century. The cottage is constructed of rubble stone with a stone slate roof and stone end stacks featuring offsets and cornices. The main part of the building is a single storey with an attic, alongside a single-storey rear extension with a flat roof. There are two gabled dormers in the roof, each containing paired casement windows. The ground floor has three-light wooden casement windows with timber lintels, alongside a 20th-century plank door with a timber lintel and a gabled hood supported by struts. The building is included on the list for its contribution to the group value of the surrounding buildings.
