Description

This milestone, dating from the 18th century, is located on the east side of Claypits Hill at Eastington. It is a single stone slab with a rounded top, standing approximately 1.2 meters high. Attached to the stone is an iron plate featuring embossed lettering that reads: "TO / STROUD / 6 / MILES".
