Description

The gatepiers at Alkerton Grange are a pair of late 18th-century structures located immediately south of Alkerton Grange. They are square brick piers set on stone bases that are chamfered only at the front. The piers feature alternating stone chamfered quoins, a moulded stone cornice, and large curved pyramidal caps topped with plain wide urn-like finials, reaching a total height of about 3.5 meters. On the outer side of both piers, there is a small section of brick wall with ramped coping.
