Description
At the west end of St Alfege Passage, there are two early 19th-century square gate piers made of multicoloured stock brick, topped with stone coping. Stone pineapple finials have been added on concrete plinths. Adjacent to the gate piers is a 17th-century brick wall, with the section closest to the gates featuring sloped coping and tapered buttresses at intervals. Along the inner side of this wall, which was once part of a burial ground, old tombstones are positioned.
