Description
Two gate piers stand approximately two metres south of the entrance to Kildwick Grange Hall. Dating to the 17th century, they are constructed of gritstone and are approximately two metres high. Each pier has a chamfered shaft, topped by two deeply chamfered blocks, which are crowned by a ball and cushion finial, all executed in a vernacular style. The piers are likely to have been repositioned in the 19th century when Grange Hall was divided into two properties and are comparable to the sundial in Kildwick village.
