Description

Green Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the late 17th century. The front windows were altered in the 18th or early 19th century. The building features square panel timber-framing with brick infill, and it is faced in roughcast on the front and sides. It has a steeply pitched, overhanging tile roof that may have originally been thatched, along with brick end stacks. The farmhouse is a long single range of two storeys, with an attic in the right-hand section only, which includes a small dormer in the gable through the eaves.

There are four small plate glass 4-pane sash windows with flush sash boxes, two on the left and two on the right. The ground floor on the far left has a 20th-century window. A 20th-century porch has been added in front of the entrance to the left of the higher section, which may have originally led to a cross passage with a stack to the left and a spiral stair on the opposite side. The first flight of stairs has been altered to a straight flight that comes across where the opposite door may have been. Close inspection of the interior is not possible. The rear facade shows exposed timber-framing but has several 20th-century windows. Inside, there are two very large timber bressumer fireplaces on the ground floor, which are partly bricked up, along with many chamfered and stopped main beams.
