Description

YATTON CP - SO 63 SW 2/95 Dean's Place 18.5.53 GV II Farmhouse. Late C16 or early C17, altered during early C20. Timber- framing with brick infill on sandstone plinth; tiled roof. Central hall range with through-passage flanked by cross-wings; main axial stack and lateral stacks to cross-wings. Later additions to rear. Two storeys, attics and cellars; south front: 2-light glazing bar casement to first floor of gable end of cross-wing to left; two windows flank gabled porch to ground floor. Two 3-light casement windows and one 4-light window to central hall range. Central entrance with gabled porch and ledged door; one 3-light glazing bar casement to gable end of cross-wing to right; French casements to ground floor. Framing: largely complete though refaced to centre of south front, four square panels from sill to wall-plate. Interior altered but retains chamfered ceiling beams and C15 tiles mentioned by RCHM now covered over; staircase mentioned by RCHM has been removed. (RCHM Vol II, p 226).
