Description

Fiddler's Bank is a house dating to the late 16th or early 17th century, with alterations made in the mid- to late 19th century, and further changes in the 20th century. The walls are timber-framed and originally filled with wattle and daub, set on a sandstone rubble plinth. The north-east gable end has been refaced with stone. The roof is covered in Welsh slate. The house has two framed bays aligned north-east to south-west, with a central entrance and a south-east gable-end stack, alongside a rear lateral stack, both partially concealed by a 20th-century lean-to addition. A glazed porch is situated on the south-east front, containing French casement windows. The house is two storeys high, with two gabled dormers featuring 2-light casement windows. The close-studded timber-framing remains largely intact.
