Description

This is an unidentified chest tomb located about 10 meters north of the north porch door in the churchyard of the Church of St. Mary the Virgin. It dates from the late 17th century to the early 18th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features a heavy rounded top and a moulded plinth, which is just visible at the west end. The ends are designed in a lyre shape with acanthus returns, and there is a small oval panel on the east side. The sides of the tomb have wreathed central ovals that are flanked by carved foliage. The east end is largely obscured by a build-up of earth.
